BMW’S new high-performance diesel 5-series will be priced from £36,575 on-the-road when it arrives in the UK.

The 535d uses a twin-turbo version of the 3.0-litre common-rail diesel found in the 530d, producing 272bhp and 413lb-ft of torque. It will be Euro IV-compliant, offers a 0-62mph time of 6.5 seconds and 35.3mpg on the combined cycle, and will be available in saloon and Touring variants.

The new 258bhp 630Ci coupe will be priced at £45,255 on-the-road, with the convertible priced at £50,655, about £5,000 less than the V8-engines 645Ci models.
