Agency wins safety award

A DRIVER supply agency has been awarded a special commendation for its dedication to road safety.

Driver Hire Nationwide has been honoured in the National Courier Awards for its contribution to creating and raising road safety awareness.

Awards co-ordinator Tracey Worth said: ‘We created a special award for Driver Hire this year, because we felt that they had shown a commitment to road safety above and beyond the usual levels and on a continuous basis.

‘Teaching drivers how to cope with defensive driving, fatigue and clarifying the new restrictions on mobile phones showed us that Driver Hire is prepared to always take that extra step when it comes to safety.’

Driver Hire Nationwide has also introduced a road safety quiz for all its drivers and a quarterly newsletter on safe and defensive driving. It has worked in conjunction with road safety charity Brake.
