EasyGroup takes Sprinters

Initially, the company will operate the service between Hendon Central, close to the Brent Cross shopping complex in north London and major points along the M1 corridor. It will also carry passengers between other destinations in the northern Home Counties.

easyGroup is a low-cost express minibus service run by MK Metro to avoid the high costs and congestion of a city centre operation.

The easyBus Internet booking system went ‘live’ in July working on the ‘earlier you book, the less you pay’ principle. Fares start from £1.

The first journey is due on 19 August between Hendon and Milton Keynes. Supplied by Hatfield dealer S&B Commercials, easyBus’s new Mercedes Sprinters have Sprintshift transmissions, which work as clutchless manual fully automatic gearboxes. Intercounty Truck & Van in Milton Keynes will maintain the new minibuses.
