THE latest appointments in the fleet industry.

  • THE Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) has appointed Ian Cheetham to the newly-created post of head of accreditation. Cheetham joins the IMI from Automotive Skills, where he was standards and qualifications manager. He will report to Alan Mackrill, IMI's director of learning and skills, and in his new role will be responsible for the internal and external quality assurance process relating to the IMI's qualifications provision.

  • LEE Acton, operations director at ReMIT, has joined the ReMIT board of directors. Before becoming ReMIT operations director at the beginning of 2004, Acton spent 10 years working in various senior roles for large training providers. He will work with other board members to help shape ReMITs future.
  • TECHNICAL and distribution supplier Walon UK has recruited Oona Welsh as national account manager. Welsh joins Walon following 14 years as account manager for Eurofleet. In her new role she will be responsible for helping expand Walon's PDI and refurbishment services for rental companies and dealers throughout the UK.

  • COMMERCIAL vehicle manufacturer LDV has appointed two new aftersales managers. Morris Gordon joins as regional parts sales manager and Francis Beckett is the new regional development manager for VANfit all-makes parts range. Gordon has 24 years' industry experience and joins from Wrexham-based Brake Engineering, where he was area sales manager. He will be responsible for the development of parts sales in LDV's dealer network in the south. Beckett, who worked at Farnborough-based Clutch and Brake Distribution before joining LDV, will develop new after-sales business.

  • CAP New Vehicle Data has made several new appointments. David Saville has been promoted to NVD quality control research supervisor, Jetindra Jutha has been appointed to the newly-created post of quality control analyst and Judith Sewell has been promoted to NVD data supervisor.

  • ZENITH Vehicle Contracts has appointed John McNally as head of new business covering the south east of England. He will be responsible for increasing Zenith's business among medium to large corporate clients and joins from Inchcape Fleet Solutions, where he was national sales manager for the south. Prior to this, he spent more than eight years with Lex Vehicle Leasing.
