HONDA’S new FR-V three- plus-three people carrier will be priced from £14,750 on-the-road when it goes on sale in November.

The company claims the FR-V will be one of the most cost-effective small MPVs as well as using two rows of three seats.

The FR-V will be launched with 1.7 VTEC and 2.0 i-VTEC petrol engines while a 2.2 i-CTDi diesel will go on sale in spring 2005.

The 1.7-litre model will be available in SE trim, while the 2.0-litre will be offered in SE or Sport. All versions will have climate control, front, side and curtain airbags, three ISOFIX child seat mountings (for front centre and outer rear seats) a trip computer and alarm.

Vehicle Stability Assist is available on the 2.0-litre while the Sport has alloy wheels, cruise control and front foglamps.
