THE latest appointments in the fleet industry.

  • INTERLEASING has a new sales and marketing director following the appointment of Clive Forsythe. Forsythe brings several years’ experience gained in the motor industry, most recently with Arval where he spent three years as managing director of the business customer division and latterly as sales director. He has also held senior positions at the Rover Group and Alphabet.
    Garry Hobson, managing director of Interleasing, said: ‘I am pleased to welcome Clive to the team. His extensive industry experience will be a major asset to the business.’

  • CHRIS James has joined DHL as market manager of key accounts for its UK express operations. He will be responsible for increasing DHL’s customer base and market share in sectors such as life sciences, automotive and retail. James has worked at DHL for the past three years after joining in 2001 as major account manager.

  • PETER Onn has joined 1link with responsibility for the service network. Sue Derbyshire and Richard Sangster have also joined. Derbyshire will be responsible for the vehicle network and Sangster will manage the new disposal network. The three new recruits have been appointed as product managers and will be responsible for developing 1link’s products, monitoring customer feedback and supporting the 1link sales team.

  • NORTH east motor dealer Benfield Motor Group has appointed Mansel Priestley to head up its contract hire division, Benfield Contract Motoring. Priestley will aim to expand the division with plans to treble the company’s size. He brings more than 30 years’ experience gained in finance advisory posts within the motor industry.

  • FLEET management group Velo has increased its customer services team following the recruitment of Cheryl Clements as account manager. Clements will be responsible for managing day-to-day customer requirements. She brings more than 15 years’ experience gained in the fleet industry, including roles at LeasePlan and Hertz Leasing.

  • BENOIT Ghiot has joined Avis Europe as non-executive director. He is currently chief financial officer of D’leteren and a member of the board of directors of Belron. Prior to joining D’leteren in 2002, he was group controller and strategic planning director with the Belgian retail group Gib.
