THE UK could see more petrol disruptions next week as union leaders threaten action at BP garages over a pensions dispute.

A group of the company’s tanker drivers has voted for industrial action in response to a retirement benefits package they regard as inferior.

The 74 drivers were switched to BP from Exel earlier this month, but their right to a final-salary scheme was not transferred with them.

Talks aimed at averting the five-day walkout have so far failed. The targeted depots are in Essex, Hampshire, West Midlands, Northampton, Merseyside, Scotland, Cumbria and Lincolnshire.
