BMW has turned to its M performance car division to breathe some life into its Z4 roadster range – and the 343bhp Z4 M is the result.

With a 3.2-litre straight-six engine borrowed from the M3, the Z4 M hits 0-62mph in just five seconds and also features revised suspension, brakes and steering. Prices have yet to be announced.

At the same time, BMW has also tweaked the rest of the Z4 range, with some slight styling changes front and rear and two new engines.

The Z4 3.0 si features the 265bhp version of BMW’s 3.0-litre straight-six, while the 2.5 si offers 218bhp. Six-speed manual gearboxes are standard across the range, and new Sport versions are also available.
