SUBARU has set its sights on the police fleet market by pushing its vehicles for unmarked and liveried use.
Several forces already make use of the high-performance Impreza, but Subaru now wants police forces to consider the Legacy and Forester as well, after winning supplier approval from the Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO).
The first liveried demonstration Forester 2.5 XT, complete with police equipment, has just hit the roads and an outsourced police sales unit has been set up by Landar.
Programme manager Lance Jenkins said: ‘It will be my job to get the Subaru on more shopping lists and to raise its profile among the constabularies.’
