LUTON Borough Council has agreed a preferred supply deal with Vauxhall following a competitive tender between several manufacturers.

Vauxhall will supply a range of vehicles including the Astravan, Combo and Vivaro, which will be used by council departments such as building maintenance and passenger transport for social services.

Colin Chick, corporate director for environment and regeneration at Luton BC, said: ‘Ultimately we felt that the Vauxhall range of vehicles covered our diverse requirements at a very competitive price.

‘The project will not only help provide essential services such as keeping our streets clean but will help anchor jobs within the local community.’
