Smart move by healthcare firm

PROMOTING a friendly service and aiming to attract and retain staff has prompted Springfield HomeCare to order a fleet of smart fortwos.

The company, part of the Springfield Healthcare group, says the cars allow for easy city driving and it has taken delivery of 30 cars already – with the potential of ordering 150 more over the coming 12 months in a £1 million deal.

Chief executive Noel Baden-Thomas said: ‘It is important to be able to attract and retain the highest quality care staff and the fleet plays a significant role in meeting this objective.

‘Smart cars are ideal for our professional requirements and appropriate for the friendly, professional and personal service we provide for our clients.’

The cars were ordered from smart of York and DaimlerChrysler Services Fleet Management (DCSFM) will provide fleet management services including finance and servicing.
