COMMUNICATIONS giant BT has extended its contract with National Car Rental for a further two years.

As part of the deal, National will provide BT with use of its 40,000-strong fleet from throughout the UK until 2007.

National’s online booking system was one reason BT decided to continue with its current contract. Sally Routledge, part of BT’s travel and consultancy procurement team, said: ‘More than 50% of our bookings are now made online. This has helped us streamline our booking processes and given us greater control over our travel polices.

‘We are able to monitor daily rental usage online and invoices are emailed directly to the person who has booked the car, reducing administration costs.’
