AN initial trial of state-of-the-art technology by a courier has led to a major order for a new system to report package deliveries automatically.

Peterborough-based Klicka Couriers initially purchased 20 of Coventry-based T@lecom’s wireless-delivered real-time proof-of-delivery systems, which have been used by the company’s drivers throughout the UK.

Since the trial, Klicka has committed to a further investment in 1,000 units to equip its entire fleet. Using the system, drivers confirm delivery on an electronic device which then remotely updates the firm’s computers. Customers can then be emailed automatically to be told the package has been delivered.
