TRIPOINT has been a dedicated rental industry software supplier since 1996 when its ProHire 1 rental management software was first launched.

We are now at ProHire 3 and Tripoint has revamped its website. The homepage is a grey canvas covered in text. A standard top and left side menu navigate you through the sections of the site.

Search hard and eventually you’ll find that Tripoint has some interesting products to offer, including online insurance quotes, online support tracking, wireless CCTV, guided and ‘interactive’ presentations, plus ‘try before you buy’ software.

You have to register on the site and this proved a tough task with numerous fields marked as mandatory and, on a second registration form, fields not marked mandatory that then turned out to be.

Fleet managers can visit the ProHire 3 page to choose the right software module for their business.

A sizeable description of the software is available to read, along with links to select business types that describe which software modules would best suit your business. At first glance you can become lost among the biblical amounts of text. But if you were seriously interested in purchasing software to improve your company’s efficiency it would be worth poring over the details.

I doubt people have the time. Some small info-packed descriptions may have worked better, backed by an offer to speak to someone at Tripoint.

The ‘Value Checker’ is a high point. A free downloadable Excel worksheet can be used to work out your hire company’s return on investment.

This site is packed with so much information it would be impossible to list all of its features. Take a look, but set aside an hour or two. Tom Seymour

The lowdown:

The site: www.tripoint.co.uk.

We like: A wealth of helpful information, if you have time to read it

We don’t like: Too much text and a confusing layout
