Somerfield outsources fleet

SUPERMARKET giant Somerfield has outsourced management of its fleet of hundreds of vehicles.

It has awarded the contract to vehicle management company Leasedrive Group which will now manage its 1,400 vehicles, including 400 refrigerated home delivery vans and 300 drivers who have opted out of the company car scheme.

The new contract includes policy advice, vehicle acquisition and disposal, vehicle maintenance management, accident management and roadside assistance.

Leasedrive Group commercial director Roddy Graham said: ‘We are delighted to have won this new contract following a tender process in which we were chosen over 22 other fleet suppliers.’
