MERCEDES-BENZ’S new V6 diesel engine, which will replace the existing five and six-cylinder units from the summer, has set a number of world records.
Fitted in three E320 CDIs, the cars covered the 100,000km, 50,000-mile and 100,000-mile endurance runs (the latter at an average speed of 139mph over 30 days) in record time at a high-speed proving ground in Laredo, Texas.
