FORTIS Bank UK is launching a car ownership scheme for its 600 employees. Called Driveaway, staff can access the scheme via a website and cars are provided by vehicle management company Leasedrive Group.

The bank’s HR director Jeanette Heydn said: ‘Depending on the success of the scheme, we may extend it further within our own group of companies.’

Leasedrive Group commercial director Roddy Graham added: ‘Following an in-depth employee survey, which revealed a desire for certain makes of car, the scheme should provide a real added-value employee benefit.

‘Fortis Bank UK’s employees will have access to specially negotiated great fleet deals from Audi, Ford and Renault. Under Driveaway, there is no restriction on the model chosen in each manufacturer’s range.’

He added: ‘No deposit is required, contract periods range from 12 to 48 months, and the scheme is supported by a competitive APR. Nor do the employees face any liability for benefit-in-kind tax.’
