MAZDA has announced details of its new MX-5.

The third generation new soft-top, first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, will be available with two Euro IV compliant engines, a 124bhp 1.8-litre and a 159bhp 2.0-litre petrol unit.

In May 2000, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized the Mazda MX-5 as the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in history, with 531,890 units produced. In April 2005, the Guinness Book of World Records updated the number of units produced to 700,000.

The new MX-5 and RX-8 are built on the same production line at Mazda's Ujina No.1 factory and will reach showrooms across Europe in November.
