THIS is Volvo’s striking new C70 – a four-seat convertible with a folding metal roof and seating for four adults.

Due to make its debut at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the C70 will arrive in the UK early next year at prices starting from about £26,000 – the same as the current C70 range.

Replacing the existing C70 coupe and convertible cars, the new version has a retractable metal roof, similar to the system used on the Mercedes-Benz SL, Peugeot’s 206 and 307 CCs and Renault’s Megane CC.

Engine options include the range-topping 220bhp turbocharged T5 and a normally-aspirated 2.4-litre in-line five-cylinder engine producing 170bhp. A 180bhp diesel version will join the line-up later next year.
