RoSPA man dies

JOHN Howard CBE, the chief executive of The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, has died after a brief illness.

Born in 1947, he joined the Society 20 years ago from industry as director of home and leisure safety. Business development director Errol Taylor has been appointed acting chief executive.
