    Vauxhall Zafira

NEW styling, an even more versatile interior and increased equipment levels make the new Zafira a hard act to beat. Its predecessor was the best-selling mini-MPV and there is no reason to think this version will not be just as popular. A lower seating position and repositioned gearlever improve the driving feel, too. The current engines are carried over and there’s a hot 237bhp VXR version coming in September.

    Renault Clio

BIGGER and more roomy inside than the car it replaces, the Clio III goes on sale in the UK in September as a three or five-door hatchback and with a range of Euro IV-compliant petrol and diesel engines. With sharper looks and more technology, the new Clio looks set to continue the model’s success. And, as it is a Renault, it has already been awarded five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test programme.
