SOME of the most senior figures in the European fleet industry have already signed up for the annual Fleet News Europe conference, which has now had its full speaker line-up confirmed.

The event, which will be held in Brussels on February 8, will play host to senior figures from European politics, business and fleet management, who will give their expert advice and opinion on issues ranging from risk management to customer service.

Delegates include manufacturer managing directors, company vice-presidents and senior executives from some of Europe’s largest fleet companies.

The event chairman will be Professor Dr Hans-Gerhard Seeba, from the University of Applied Sciences in Wolfsburg, Germany, where he lectures on issues including the automotive value chain, automotive sales and marketing topics.

Prof Seeba is also chairman of the International Car Distribution Programme (ICDP), a non-profit research organisation with researchers and advisers throughout France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

Headline speaker at the event will be Ivan Hodac (pictured right), secretary general of ACEA, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.

Stefan Tostman, head of road safety for the European Commission, and Joerg Beckmann, executive director of the European Transport Safety Council, will provide the latest advice and information on road safety in Europe.

They will be followed by Professor Peter Cooke, from Nottingham Business School, who will look at how suppliers can provide services that will help fleets improve their safety record and save lives. Nick Brownrigg, chief executive officer of Masterlease Group, and Anita de Groot-Hanegraaf , commodity sourcing manager, responsible for fleet, travel and HR, at OCE will speak on service for fleet customers.

The future of the car market will be the subject of presentations from Thomas Chieux, lead researcher of ICDP France, and James Allen, global head of sales for Jato.

Lars-Erik Aaroy, head of sales for Toyota Motor Europe, will look at doing business in Europe, while Bart Vanham, director, PricewaterhouseCoopers in Belgium will provide an overview of European taxation.

In a new feature for the annual European conference, breakout sessions will focus on leasing, rental and remarketing.

Paul Bradbury, managing director mainland Europe for BCA Europe, will host the discussion on remarketing, while Peter Verkuyl, vice-president of the European Car And Truck Rental Association, will host a discussion on leasing. He will be joined by Marc Peeters, senior manager, information risk management for KPMG, who will cover pan-European IT solutions for leasing companies.
