Red Bull binge driver ends up in jail

A motorist led police on a 50 mile chase after he drank 20 cans of the Red Bull energy drink.

Peter Edwards, (48), had drank the caffeine rich drink to help him stay awake while he gave lifts to his friends to several parites.

His Vauxhall Frontera was driven straight over a roundabout in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, and Edwards was seen to be stripping off his shirt whilst behind the wheel. The chase was only stopped after police used a stinger device to puncture his tyres in Swaffham, Norfolk.

Edwards’ car ended up crashing into a ditch, Malcolm Robbins, prosecuting, told Norwich Crown Court.

Edwards, of King’s Lynn, Norfolk, was jailed for four months after he admitted dangerous driving in the early hours of March 13 last year. He was also banned for driving for four years.
