Vanguard gets new chief

VANGUARD Rental EMEA, parent company for the National and Alamo brands, has appointed Dr Hans-Ulrich Sachenbacher (right) as vice-president for Vanguard Germany.

Sachenbacher has held a number of senior positions, including vice-president sales at Sixt and managing director of debis Fleet Management, a division of DaimlerChrysler.

Ian Wardle, senior vice-president and chief operating officer for Vanguard Rental EMEA, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome him to the team. His appointment is further illustration of our commitment to placing Germany at the heart of our EMEA strategy.

‘Ulrich’s strong sales and marketing background and strategic business development skills mean he will be able to provide clear direction on how to significantly build our revenue and maximise our opportunities for growth in Germany.’
