MICHELLE Hallam, fleet manager, Fisher Scientific UK

How many vehicles are you responsible for?
Eighty-five, including the accident management of 25 HGVs. I took over responsibility for the fleet just over six years ago.

What made you join fleet in the first place?
I was selected by our senior management team for my effective managerial and communication skills and my enthusiasm for cars.

What is the best part of your job?
Variety, meeting people from different areas of the fleet industry, negotiating terms with manufacturers, suppliers and dealers and the opportunity to test-drive different vehicles.

What is the worst thing a driver has done?
One driver lost both sets of car keys walking from my office to the car park. The vehicle was towed away.

If you were transport minister, what would you change?
I would reduce the number of speed cameras in unnecessary areas and tackle environmental issues affecting fleets.

Where was your last holiday?
Coral Bay, Cyprus.
