Describe your fleet.
We have 1,800 vehicles, 600 cars and 1,200 LCVs, HGVs and plant.
How did you get into the business?
I’ve always had an interest in vehicles and I wanted to escape from accounting. A vacancy came up in our fleet department at the right time 11 years ago and I haven’t looked back.
Describe your job in two sentences.
No two days are ever the same. Just when you think you’ve heard all the stories of what drivers can get up to, someone will surprise you and raise the bar.
How is the industry changing?
Alternative fuels have yet to find direction, but when they do I expect big changes.
What advice would you give to someone joining the industry?
Although professional training is very good, listen and learn from the people who have been there for years.
What’s your favourite restaurant?
Race Rock in Orlando is heaven – a motorsport-themed restaurant which does a great burger.
