Prohire buys MVC

PROHIRE, the Staffordshire-based asset leasing company has bought contract hire company Midland Vehicle Contracts Ltd in a multi-million pound deal.

As a division of Prohire Group Plc, Midland Vehicle Contracts Ltd will continue to trade as such for the foreseeable future and all MVC personnel will be retained in the enlarged group.

Since purchasing Securicor Vehicle Management in 2003, Prohire had been searching for further UK acquisitions. This concluded at Cobridge based MVC, which is just a few miles from Prohire’s head office in Fenton. Prohire sees its acquisition as a natural stablemate to its existing companies.

Prohire’s chairman David Barlow said: 'We have acquired an excellent business with a good geographical fit, exceptional workforce and a quality customer base. The strength of the combined businesses will enable us to improve our service offering to the customer, whilst retaining the ability to still offer the personal touch.’
