THE UK has become a gadget nation. Portable MP3 players and digital camera phones can be found vibrating in pockets across the nation. And cars are no different. Volvo now offers a heartbeat sensor as an extra on its new S80 key fob and Nissan’s new Terranaut concept boasts a science lab.

While fleet managers might be against their drivers performing experiments in the back of their cars, they might not be against the idea of giving their drivers a satellite navigation system or a portable breathalyser.

Incargadgets.co.uk is a website dedicated solely to, well, in-car-gadgets. This is a place fleet managers or their drivers can come to scope out and order gizmos online. The left-hand menu on the homepage easily breaks up the different categories of gadgets, making it quick for users to find what they’re looking for.

Users can purchase products in a similar way to most online shops. ‘Choose a product from a list, click to view more details, click image to enlarge, click buy.’ The product will then be added to the ‘checkout’. From this point, visitors to the website must fill out an online form which only takes a couple of minutes.

What would have been good to see on this site is some product reviews.

I looked at the ‘customer comments’ section to see how good the delivery times where. There were lots of happy customers. What wasn’t so prompt was the email response time. I sent an email at 4.30pm about a trade enquiry and there was no reply by midday the following day.
