Ford reveals face of new Ranger pick-up

FORD has released first pictures of the new Ranger, which is due to go on sale this autumn.

The 4x4 model features a new design inside and out, increased load and towing capacity, extra cabin comfort and an all-new 2.5-litre common rail diesel engine offering 134bhp and 243lb-ft of torque.

A ‘Thunder’ package is available for the new model, with a tubular sports bar, chrome side sill bar and rear chrome underbar, together with leather seats, scuff plates, off-road gauges, six-CD player and air conditioning.

Gary Whittam, commercial vehicles director, Ford of Britain, said: ‘New Ranger is a very stylish yet durable vehicle. It really deserves its ‘tough truck’ label, and now offers higher levels of comfort and practicality.

‘Sales of Ranger have more than doubled over the last five years and we are confident that the all-new Ranger will attract even more new customers who will certainly feel the difference.’

Prices will be announced nearer the on-sale date.
