PM’s visit

TONY Blair joined Nissan president and chief executive officer Carlos Ghosn for a tour of the manufacturer’s Sunderland plant.

The Prime Minister’s visit was part of a celebration of the site producing more than three million cars for export.

He said: ‘The global car market is extremely challenging and I applaud everyone here for proving that the UK manufacturing sector has the ability to compete at the very highest level.’
