£1m camera

A TEMPORARY speed camera on the M62 in West Yorkshire has reportedly raised more than £1 million in fines.

The camera caught 18,000 drivers speeding in an 18-month period and was installed in September 2003 when the speed limit was reduced from 70mph to 50mph because of roadworks.

The Sun newspaper claims to have obtained the figure under the Freedom of Information Act.
