EUROPE’S biggest fleet has rewarded its suppliers at its inaugural awards ceremony.

Motability, the car scheme for disabled people which manages a fleet of more than 423,000 vehicles, hosted its Motability Supplier Awards to recognise companies that have delivered excellence, scheme growth and high performance.

Mike Wear, manufacturer and dealer relations director for Motability Operations, said: ‘The Motability Supplier Awards are designed to recognise the importance of our relationships with all of our business partners.

‘Rewarding business innovation and excellence is key to ensuring that we continue to work together in a mutually beneficial way into the future. 2005 has set some high standards and we are looking to beating these achievements in 2006.’

The event took place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London and entertainment was provided by comedian Jimmy Carr.

Motability Operations chief executive Mike Betts said: ‘There has never been a more exciting time for the Motability scheme – customer growth is continuing supported by the excellent work of our dealer partners and we are providing new innovations that make the scheme even more attractive and accessible.’
