CHANGES to the board of fleet operators’ association Acfo will be made at its AGM and conference next week.

It will take place on Tuesday (May 16) at the Vauxhall Recreation Club in Luton and will mark the retirement of Acfo director Di Rees, who is standing down after 11 years following retirement from her job at Leo Pharmaceuticals, where she was responsible for its fleet.

Also retiring from the board at the Vauxhall Motors-sponsored AGM are current Acfo directors Tony Leigh, who is chairman, and Brian Ingham, who is finance director, although both are standing for re-election.

Two active members are also contesting the election. They are Liz Hollands, fleet manager at property advisers DTZ and chairman of Acfo Southern region, and John Pryor, group car fleet and travel manager for the Arcadia Group.

Members will also be asked to confirm the appointment to the board of Phil Redman, fleet manager of IBM, who was appointed director following the death in 2005 of board member John Robinson.

Starting at 10am, the AGM, followed by the conference, is free to members and nominated guests.

The conference will be addressed by:

  • Damian James, of Bracknell Forest Borough Council, on the use of telematics in fleet.
  • Saul Jeavons, of the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL), on accident investigations.
  • Chris Oliver, of AJC Wilson Body Shops, on costs and standards of accident repairs.
  • A representative of the Motor Insurers’ Information Centre, on better deployment of the Motor Insurers’ Database.
  • Dr Chris Murlis, of the CarbonNeutral Company, on green fleet issues.
