C3S Group has appointed Skoda to supply its fleet following a review of its purchasing policy.

The corporate safety and security systems business formerly operated a mixed-badge fleet (including Ford, Citroen, Volkswagen and Vauxhall) with vehicles chosen by individual company car drivers.

William Robson, managing director of C3S, said: ‘After overhauling our policy, we spoke with a number of manufacturers to try and discover a reliable vehicle with the best economic value. When comparing pence per mile costs, Skoda came out on top.

'Although some of our employees were hesitant about our decision, all now agree that the vehicles are far better than the fleet we were operating before. We have been extremely pleased with the vehicles so far.'

To date, C3S has taken delivery of two Skoda Superbs and 11 Octavias all in the top Elegance trim.

  • Skoda’s fleet sales saw a 23.9% increase in a market that is up by just 9.7%, equating to a total sales volume of 14,555 in 2005. Skoda now has a total fleet share of 1.27% after securing a number of clients, including Ikea, Marie Curie, Mencap and Caterham Cars, over the last year.
