PARCEL delivery firm Premier Despatch is turning heads in London with its fleet of bubble-shaped Q pods.

The vehicles, described as being safer than quad bikes because of their full rollover protection, are distributed by in the UK by Unique Motor Company, whose chairman is TV presenter Noel Edmonds.

They are economical to run, achieving 60mpg, and clean, producing 81g/km of CO2. They have a top speed of 45mph.

Chairman Kevin Jenkins, who founded the business in 1990, said: ‘This is the most ingenious dispatch vehicle for over a decade.

‘They are great fun and avoid the emissions that suffocate the city with pollution. The Q pod will put a smile on a lot of people’s faces when they see it at work delivering parcels to London’s businesses.’

Premier Despatch has seven of the road-legal vehicles on trial with a view to increasing the number on its fleet.
