‘We’re offering operators the opportunity to go to Euro V now on all EuroCargo, Trakker and Stralis models over 7.5 tonnes,’ said Chris Thorneycroft-Smith, managing director.
‘The uptake was a little slow at first but now it’s gaining momentum, particularly with international operators who want to take advantage of the incentives on the continent.’
The firm says it has invested heavily in Euro V technology and wants to pass the benefits on to operators. ‘Many operators want Euro V now both for social and business reasons. And there is growing pressure on the UK government to come up with realistic incentives to help UK operators buy the most environmentally friendly trucks ahead of the deadlines,’ said Thorneycroft-Smith.
