LAND Rover has released the first details - and pictures - of the Freelander 2.

Designed and engineered by Land Rover at Gaydon, near Warwick, the Freelander 2 is built at the Halewood plant in Liverpool.

Highlights include:
The petrol will only be offered with a six-speed automatic gearbox with sequential-shift and sports modes and the diesel will be available with a six-speed manual at launch. The auto will be available from early 2007.
