Scenic II hits one-million mark

RENAULT has produced the one millionth Scenic II at its plant in Douai, France.

Launched less than three years ago, the milestone model, a Scenic Authentique 1.6-litre, is destined for a customer in Germany.

The manufacturer said its timing also offers cause for a double celebration, as 2006 marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of the original Megane Scenic.

The Scenic II will get a facelift in the autumn.
