NATIONAL Car Rental has announced a new UK head following the departure from the company of Neil McCrossan.

McCrossan, who has spent 23 years with the company and was vice president commercial development, has left to pursue ‘personal ventures’.

Lorraine Farnon has been appointed sales director and divisional vice-president UK.

In her new role, Farnon will have responsibility for National’s relationship with the fleet and corporate sector and will also take up directorship of the Guy Salmon rental division and National’s van rental business.

National’s senior vice-president, John Leigh, told Fleet NewsNet: ‘It was Neil’s decision to leave us to pursue other personal ventures and we were very sorry to see him go. Lorraine’s appointment is key, given the strategic importance of sales to the fleet and corporate sector.’
