GENERAL Motors has invested €550 million in its Zaragoza plant in Spain for production of the new Opel/Vauxhall Corsa. The manufacturer’s Spanish division, GM Espana, has extensively modernised the plant for production of the car, which goes on sale in the winter.

It is GM’s largest European production facility and has produced the Corsa since it opened in 1982.

GM Europe president Carl-Peter Forster said: ‘The latest investments in Zaragoza ensure that our Spanish plant will remain one of the strong pillars the GM Europe production network is built on.’
