New service links

A NEW online service connects fleets with salvage companies looking for vehicles.

eSalvage is run by Elite Salvage Solutions and EurotaxGlass’s and lets 130 salvage companies bid for vehicles.

The system promises fleets a confirmed bid on fleet vehicles within two working days and Elite says prices are typically higher than the settlement price offered by insurers for retaining the salvage. The price does not have to be accepted and the service is free to use.

Elite has been running a similar system for insurers for five years, and has now invested in web technology to expand the offering for fleet operators who can access the system at www.eliteim.co.uk.

‘This system has consistently delivered higher returns than traditional salvage contracts,’ said Elite general manager Clive Rolfe.

‘It is especially true of vehicles under three years old and desirable models such as 4x4s, sports cars and prestige vehicles.

‘In most cases we achieve an extra £500 over conventional settlements and it is possible to realise more than £6,000 extra on certain prestige models.’
