PEUGEOT-owned dealer group Robins and Day has been fined £10,000 and made to pay further £28,000 in costs for breaching Health and Safety law.

The prosecution follows a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigation after Martin Bennett, 39, suffered Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) in both hands, and carpal tunnel syndrome in his right wrist.

A spokesman for the retailer said: 'The magistrate emphasized that, in their view, Robins and Day is a responsible company with a good attitude towards Health and Safety.'
