General manager, Karl Scott, who will head the new division, said: “This is a natural progression for the company, all sectors of the group will running in tandem to produce a product and after-sales service that is backed by 85 locations.”
The company now has a fleet of over 11,000 units, comprising cars and light commercials and serves both the retail and corporate rental market.
Meanwhile, 1car1 has expanded its specialised dual-control fleet by a further 60 vehicles to provide a faster response time for replacement driving instructor vehicles.
Jon Oxbury UK sales and marketing manager, said: “Having these vehicles in stock has allowed us to be able to react to this sector of the business.
"Obviously, each vehicle needs to be fitted with additional equipment, which makes it unsuitable for the normal rental market, however, we decided to dedicate a percentage of the fleet to this very unique sector and offer an essential service to driving schools and instructors, who through either an accident or mechanical failure, cannot carry on with their day-to-day business.”
