European fuel card providers are enjoying growing access to the fleet market via leasing and management companies.

Market analyst, Datamonitor, charted the growing relationship between fuel card suppliers and fleet leasers.

It found that companies such as BP’s German leasing partners tie them to 34% of the market, with around 314,000 vehicles using their cards.

Ricky Hill, forecourt analyst at Datamonitor, said: “Using leasing companies to distribute fuel cards remains a very economical way to increase volume sales, and given the growth of leased company cars, will become an increasingly important distribution channel.”
