Kia Motors has won a three-year deal with the Slovakian government, supplying vehicles to the country’s police force.

The Cee’d model patrol cars will be manufactured locally at Kia’s Zilina plant and the company is set to invest €1 billion in the enterprise.

So far, Kia has issued the force with 43 cars and will provide another 350 later in the year. Another 4,000 are expected to be added throughout the contract period.

Jean-Charles Lievens, senior vice-president at Kia Europe, said: “This significant fleet order from the Slovakia Republic is an endorsement of the design, quality and durability of the Cee’d.”
