Homeserve has taken delivery of 70 new light commercial vehicles to its warranties division in the first stage of a phased renewal of its fleet.

The new vans join an existing 1,000-strong LCV fleet following a review by Homeserve of its entire fleet operation and the appointment of Inchcape Fleet Solutions as the company’s sole supplier of company vehicles and related services.

Homeserve’s new Ford diesel van fleet includes both Transit Connect and Transit vehicles. The branded vehicles are operated over a four-year/80,000-mile cycle and are being supplied fully racked out.

The all-diesel 500-strong company car fleet is operated on a similar replacement cycle and embraces Audi, BMW and Volkswagen vehicles.

The new contract hire fleet solution includes the supply of pay-as-you go maintenance, accident management and daily rental services, fuel card management and a comprehensive occupational road risk management service.

Homeserve’s duty of care solution, which embraces employee driver licence checks, online profiling and driver training will be managed by Inchcape Fleet Solutions in partnership with the company’s preferred supplier.

Terry Bartlett, managing director of Inchcape Fleet Solutions, said: “The introduction of a range of at-work duty of care solutions coupled with the integration of modern technology to improve engineering efficiencies will not only improve safety on the road, but will also reduce the environmental impact of Homeserve’s fleet as mileage management will improve.”
