Industry stalwart Nigel Trotman has received a major award for his long-term commitment to green fleet management as part of a major series of awards.

He received the outstanding achievement award from the Energy Saving Trust during its 2007 Green Fleet Hero Awards.

Mr Trotman, business relationship manager at Whitbread, has kept the company at the forefront of green fleet management for many years.

Apart from the environmental savings, his efforts have helped save an estimated £300,000 annually between 1999 and 2005.

He said: “Any business can make substantial savings and reduce its impact on the environment.

Moving to a green fleet policy need not be complex.”
