TLS Vehicle Rental has launched a new product called SatVan, which can be fitted to any TLS van and provides fleet operators with the ability to track a range of operational factors online.

These can cover everything from where a vehicle is, when and where the load doors have been opened and the amount of time it has been idle to whether driver hours legislation is being met and whether it has entered a congestion zone.

All the information is available online around the clock without the need for specialist software and the system is designed so that vehicle operators can set it up to identify whether they are meeting KPIs and to put exception reporting in place.

Alerts for exceptional incidents – such as if a vehicle is moving beyond its normal operational area or is being used outside of normal working hours when it should be stored at a depot – can be set up as mobile phone alerts.
