Zenith Vehicle Contracts has been certified as carbon neutral.

The company engaged consultants from Carbon Footprint Ltd to calculate its CO2 footprint and recommend ways this could be offset. As a result, Zenith has initiated a tree-planting programme locally in Yorkshire.

Zenith chief executive Andrew Cope said: “We are committed to further reductions of our carbon footprint and our target is to cut emissions by 30% per person over the next three years.

"This will be tough, given that the business is growing and we are having to travel more. But this is something we are serious about.

"One way to do this is by incentivising the driver to choose a greener vehicle than the one he or she otherwise might have considered,” he explained.

“The incentive option is often self-funding because a greener fleet generally costs less to run.”
