British Gas is embracing Road Safety Week, which began today, by encouraging its workforce to drive safely through a range of initiatives.

All staff at company offices in Leeds, Leicester, Staines and Windsor will be emailed and encouraged to complete a 50 multi-choice question Highway Code knowledge check.

These sites will also be running supporting events to provide road safety advice and distribute over 1,000 A-Z of Safe Driving booklets, 750 interactive Highway Code CDs, 100 ‘Creating a Crash Free Culture’ management guides and other material.

The theme for Road Safety Week 2007 is child pedestrian and cyclist safety, and fleet operations manager Jon York is calling for all Centrica drivers to slow down around schools and residential areas to help protect children on foot and bikes.
